Unreleased

I just found something incredible. But you wouldn't want to know about it, would you?

Alright, WELL! Regardless of what you think of this shit, here we go.

I found a bunch of unreleased Jónsi material while stumbling around the internet. He's so great. But I'm not going to tell you where to get it because............ wouldn't that be illegal?

There are too many "illegal" things in the world. Whoever invented the word should be shot. That's the anarchist part of me.

Merry Christmas.

Little Finn

Finn is my little brother.

He:
-Is 14
-Loves skating
-Loves Bob Dylan
-Loves me

We listen to cool music together.
He's not a huge fan of electronic music but that's okay.
He is small here and I think it's hilarious because he's such a punk now.

I think my cousin Kayla, (who is currently in West Virginia), took this photo.

There's one more picture of him I found awhile ago but it's missing at the moment. When the poor soul is recovered, it will be posted immediately.

By the way, Miniature Tiger's show last night was awesome. They opened and then Freelance Whales played, (they were spectacular as well). At Kilby Court, which made it 10 times better.

(All pictures stolen from cousin Bayley's Facebook)

(What will happen if you try to take me picture)

See?

Trying not to smile. I was had, in a half smile. And I look like a molester.

You don't understand the need I have for one of those... I mean the beard, of course.

Some humorous photos

Logan is Chris' cousin that I met when Chris and I were working on a ranch. He's awesome. This is an "inspired coloring" by him:

Heh, I thought it was hilarious...
Moving on.

Next, I present myself.

Right?

This last one is the drummer of Portugal. The Man. Apparently, wherever this was (on tour), it was hot.

Yesterday at D.I.

I bought a maternity shirt. 97% cotton, 3% spandex. It's sweet. It's really flexible... (JOKE ALERT!) like my ex-husband.

During 8th period on Friday, Gemma and I went to: the library, (we sat upstairs and read magazines, although I just read the articles on food. I felt like an old couple, which was awesome). Then we went to D.I. The shoes sucked that time. Nothing good. Although Gemma DID find a rad dress. I told her it was too long. She said it wasn't. ("I tried it on"). I was right. She had to take some length off the bottom and fix a tear. I hope she reads this.

I am boring.

Back to school meal.

I want everyone to know that Matthew (father) is a god. Check out this "back to school meal" we had towards the latter part of August.

Rich sandwich.

Cheese plate, olive oil/balsamic vinegar, bread, olives.

Olives.

Cheese plate.

"Oh my goodness, my dear duke! I'm so sorry!" -Harry Zidler

Anyway, cheers. I just felt like showing this off. Oh, and everything but the sandwich was the "appetizer."

Hemma

I like a lot of people.

I don't like a lot of people.

I like Gemma.
http://gemmagroverphot.blogspot.com/
She probably thinks this is weird since we've only hung out like twice outside of school. But she's so cool. You know you've got someone's respect and attention when they write an entire blog post on you.

(As always, stolen from her Facebook). Sorry I don't know who to give photo credit to.

Passion.

We made love on the living room floor
With the noise in the background from a televised war
And in that deafening pleasure I thought I heard someone say,
"If we walk away, they'll walk away."

Finn and Skeleton Mask.

Finn and I went on a bike ride.

I wore a skeleton mask.

Finn took pictures of me.

We took pictures in the tunnel underneath University Avenue, kind of by our house. I want to bring a guitar and some people and play music in there. Dirty, grimy, slightly echoee. It would be sweet.

It was funny because, first of all, I got really stoked and was like, "Finn! Wanna go on a crazy bike ride?! Just put on all black clothes and maybe a beanie..." But then I realized it would be dumb if we both looked weird/like burglars. So I changed my mind and had Finn wear standard skating attire, (or whatever he wears every day).

We bought grape Powerade's at BuyLow. We played with shopping carts. Finn pushed me into a curb while in the shopping cart, (It's okay, I told him too).

I tried to take pictures of Finn.

It was a successful excursion.

Farewell.

it's late.

Today, I had the biggest thrill of my life. So I was on the computer this morning looking up info on Jónsi, (why? maybe because I research/stalk bands/artists. Maybe it's a little creepy to some people that I know, (for example), what some of the-lead-singer-of-Crystal-Castles'(whose name is Alice Glass, I thought you should know)-daily activities are. Maybe I see it as perfectly normal. Maybe I like to be creepy in that distant sense. Let's keep moving).

Geez. This is too long already and now I'm frustrated. Anyway, to cut to the chase, I bought two Jónsi tickets right as they went on sale. I was like, "Awww cool, he's coming to SLC in October and tickets go on sale.... RIGHT NOW! Holy hell!" (yes I apologize but I did curse. Sometimes I let my excitement get the better of me). Sounds totally gripping right?

I decided I would invite my bist frind Mary. (no "e's" on purpose).

This is Mary.

Stolen from her FB.
(Her style is totally cute and rad).

Mary likes guns. No really. Earlier we were talking about how she shot a snake with a shotgun and laughed with glee shortly after. What a murderous little......... kidding. That's a lie. I'll have to ask her if she really likes guns.

Mary and I hang out at her house.

According to Pappy, Mary sounds like a 13 year old.

Mary is now an angry person. She doesn't smile. At least, she tries not to. I'm gotten pretty good at forcing one out every once in a while. This tragedy is due to Mary's newest edition... braces. Oh it's so exciting.

Anyway, this concert will be swell.

ps - newest way I sign my name is something like:

Niels H. Christensen, Therapist Extraordinaire (or something similar)
nielshenryc@gmail.com, 801.377.5144

I just find the term "extraordinaire," hilarious. Almost as funny as "cut the cake!"

pps - I thought you should know - I cleaned up puke in the hallway, at the hospital, just the other day, (for those of you who don't know, I intern at UVRMC, following Physical Therapists around and pushing wheelchairs. Sometimes Shane (my head supervisor) makes me take apart wheelchairs and when that I happens I finish, but caked in grease. Thanks for making me feel like a mechanic, Shane).

cheers.

ps - been listening to a lot of P. the man

bon iver (oh goodness)

and crystal castles' new album.

it's so sweet. has anyone else heard it? my favorites are empathy, baptism, and not in love. it makes me feel like everything is going so slow because it's such intense electronic music. "geez louise louise." - spencer schmutz.

mt. pleasant trip and a colored hand

"[i sleep] on a bed of money surrounded by many beautiful women."

events of the month: mother's day and our show in Mt. Pleasant...... here's a piece:

day 1: we drove down around noon. jammed. mariocart wii. jammed again. packed up. checked into the venue (THE ILLUSION ACADEMY!). got pizza. watched some of the most awful bands i've ever seen, (the second band was a "metalcore" band that just "showed up" to play one song. awesome), (ps - concerning the first band, i mean, i 'm usually the one to be like "they weren't bad at all," but this show i was like, "ooh uh... they weren't bad. they just needed to tune, and play on time, and get singing lessons, and actually listen to the songs they were covering, and not play a "WEEPING DEMON" wah solo in every song, and not blame everyone for sounding like crap, and get a drummer, and not be bastards. no big deal, right?).

after that we played probably our best show. we played well. our crowd was incredible. 80 kids we didn't know and more than half were extremely "turned on" girls. sorry for being graphic. but it's true. we got to play around 11 songs. 2 extra because P.A. problems and broken guitar strings. chris broke his high e while tuning, so tucker and i performed an almost finished acoustic song. it was swell. oh and mine and chris' harmonies in "(this is) the dream of evan and chan" (an awesome cover) felt so good. man i love singing without a mic.

day 2: stayed up ALL night. drank way too much pepsi. played dashboard and bon iver with matt. watched a crappy movie. laughed a lot. went dirt biking/off-roading at about 6:30 in the morning. at first i was a wiener: i burned my ankle on the the bike, so i didn't feel like riding anymore. yeah i know, really funny. imagine me pouting it up in the backseat of a car. but after lunch, i gave it a second try and figured out that it was crazy fun. but, i'm still a wuss. anyway. started driving home. got pulled over. went to taco time, (we were all so retarded from this point due to lack of sleep. also, forgot to mention - chris got in a fight with some pine tree branches while riding the dirt bike, so it looked like brad pitt punched him several times right in the face. basically every other sentence from tucker was "haha dude look at your face."). got some nacho's and a veggie burrito. drove home. hung out with kent. drew pictures. coloured my entire hand with markers. slept like a baby for 13 hours.

barf.

no other title would suffice.

today, i promised lydia that i would never watch silence of the lambs, because she said it sounded foul... i mean, not that i was planning on watching it, but it's probably a good idea anyway, due to my weak stomach.
no joke. today, during physiology, i felt like throwing up while dealing with a chicken wing. actually the chicken itself wasn't that bad, but when i cut into the muscle, maybe it started bleeding a little bit. not as bad as a 30 pound cow heart that reeks of prerequisites to vomiting.

mmmmm.... i'd like a large portion of that right now, along with a steaming mug of pancreatic juice (all credit goes to chris on that one).

now really quick, i want you to picture me... sitting on my bed, listening to portugal. the man's the satanic satanist, feeling totally relaxed, drinking a glass of fresh orange juice.............. that's not what's happening right now. actually i feel like crap. i smell like a dog, i have a headache, my eyes are watering, but tailbone is asleep and i'm gay... oopss.. i mean blind (no offence at all to people that are gay, i'm simply making fun of a reporter). finished.

"is that what this is, a lark in the court of the king? is it!? is that what you're trying to tell me!?"

(best 80's band)

the cure

nothing surpasses the magnificence.

i've been listening to their 1989 album disintegrate as of the last few weeks.
funny thing is i used to hate ALL 80's music.. maybe because i thought all 80's bands sounded exactly like metallica and pantera. that's definitely a plausible reason.

ps - also been listening to local folk band Adam & Darcie. adam has been recording Red & The Rover's debut album.

pps - i just wish it would rain already.
"Dear Mother Earth, please don't leave me hanging. Or... I'll chop off the head of a dandelion" (while pretending to be killing bad-guys with Lars).

waiting for guffman.

man i haven't seen that movie for more than a month. it's one of my favorites besides lord of the rings.

i found this little delight:

"What the city council did was really... give me a challenge, and it's a challenge that I am going to... accept. It's like in the olden days, in the... days of France, when men would slap each other with their gloves... say, y'know... 'D'Artagnan!'... y'know, 'how dare you talk to me like that, you!,' and... smack 'em."
-Corky

(oh and here's a picture of me...)

in the beginning.

i'm 17, i weigh 245 pounds and i smoke and drink myself to sleep every night.

kidding. that's a lie.
sometimes i like to imagine i'm laying in a field, naked, surrounded by gentle rhino's that slowly lumber around me, smiles sweetly remaining on their lucid faces. the field is green, of course, with wildflowers dotting the ground here and there. a tune is sweetly playing in my head. i think it's called "i'm laying in a field naked and surrounded my rhinos." that sounds about right.

so no, no. the pleasure is all mine, because i am a rhinoceros.
